Ancient Ayurveda medical scripture "susruta samhita" states that jaggery purifies the blood, prevents rheumatic afflictions and bile disorders. The micro-nutrients present in the jaggery have anti-toxic and anti-carcinogenic properties. Its regular dietary intake prevents atmospheric pollution related toxicity and the incidence of lung cancer. It is the natural mixer of sugar and molasses.
